In Memoriam
Samuel Doe, 91, of Lady Lake, Florida, passed away on October 20, 2025. Born March 12, 1934 in Brooklyn, New York, Samuel was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and a pillar of every community he called home.
Samuel spent thirty-eight years as a civil engineer in New York City before retiring to The Villages area with his wife Ruth, to whom he was married for sixty-four years. He was an active member of his synagogue, an avid golfer, and an even more avid reader of anything about World War II history. His grandchildren remember him for the stories he told without ever making himself the hero of them.
He is survived by his beloved wife Ruth; his children David (Sarah) Doe of Boca Raton and Rachel (Daniel) Roe of Tel Aviv; and five grandchildren who were the great joy of his final years.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the congregation or a charity of your choice in Samuel's memory.
