In Memoriam

Harold "Hal" Bennett, 83, of Wildwood, Florida, passed away on October 31, 2025, surrounded by family. Born February 19, 1942 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Hal spent thirty years as a Navy officer before retiring to The Villages area, where he lived with the same energy and humor that defined his entire life.

Hal had a gift for people. He could strike up a conversation with anyone — at a gas station, at a Phillies game, on a fishing boat — and leave them feeling like they'd known him for years. He volunteered with the local veterans' post, coached little league well into his sixties, and could be counted on to show up with a casserole whenever a neighbor needed one.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Patricia; his children David (Jennifer) Bennett of Sacramento, California, and Karen (Tom) Rizzo of Denver, Colorado; and five grandchildren who called him "Poppy Hal."

Recordings of both services are available above using the Part 1 / Part 2 tabs.
Both recordings remain viewable for one full year from the date of the service.
